Like many leading organisations Biffa recognises the importance of its people and was looking to engage its staff across the UK with this topic.
As part of this programme, Biffa wanted to demonstrate its commitment to taking care of its people but also realise the real business benefits of a healthier workforce, namely: business stability, improved absence, greater engagement, etc.
Their immediate focus was on the most pressing issues specific to their people. These were musculo-skeletal disease for its operational teams and stress/work-life balance for its support functions.
We worked with Biffa to develop an identity that would be eye-catching, simple and striking enough to grab peoples’ attention in a busy office environment and work equally well in a municipal waste facility.
We knew we’d have a limited window of opportunity with both audiences and therefore we quickly established that the initial goal should be to grab attention and provoke thought.
To achieve this we created a set of print and digital assets to be used flexibly across platforms (such as posters, on plasma screens, as screensavers, etc) and that tackled the core topics with bold imagery and clever copy.
