NCHC PROVIDE HEALTH AND CARE SERVICES FOR ONE MILLION PEOPLE ACROSS 70 SERVICE LOCATIONS IN THEIR REGION. 

Following the most challenging period in the NHS’s history, the Trust asked us to partner with their Board and Executive Leadership to co-develop a bold and inspiring direction for the future. Community Trusts play a vital and often overlooked role in society. Our approach was to create space so every member of the team could contribute to articulating a strategic narrative they are proud of. 

Through a combination of individual sessions and group workshops we supported NCHC to discover the gems and share a story which elevates the huge contribution these teams make every day. By creating a space for reflection and challenge for these senior leaders, we were able to not only identify an existing narrative but also explore what more was required, both in storytelling and strategic action.

Our development process has also been in lockstep with the NCHC Public Board meetings. This has enabled Executive and Non-Executive Directors to share the evolution with all employees and the communities they serve across the region. This connected approach has been core to the values of the Trust and will serve them as they deploy this strategy.

As a result of this programme not only did NCHC arrive at a clear, compelling and connected narrative, they also fully engaged their Board and Leadership team with this ambition for the future. By deeply involving leaders we were able to help them expand their thinking and set a standard for open challenge, support and reflection amongst this group.

As the NHS continues its nationwide integration process, this programme (in both its connected and collaborative approach and content) has helped to position NCHC as a pioneer amongst NHS Trusts in integrated strategic thinking and storytelling.
