Following a period of significant change, Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust engaged us to support a dual transformation. The Trust’s new CEO, who had worked with us during a major transformation at his previous Trust, asked us to develop a clear, compelling strategic narrative and co-create a set of values. The ambition was unify people and build lasting cultural change.
NHS Worcestershire Acute Hospitals Trust
Building a confident strategic story and meaningful values for an acute hospitals trust
With over 8,000 staff across three sites, the Trust faced real challenges: high leadership turnover, low psychological safety and scepticism around past initiatives. Our work needed to rebuild trust and create shared clarity around both direction and identity.
We began by working closely with the senior leadership team to understand historical challenges, current priorities and future aspirations. Through a series of collaborative workshops and small group conversations, we gathered insight into what mattered most, what people wanted the Trust to stand for and the behaviours needed to create a better future.
In parallel, we worked with senior leaders and key external stakeholders to co-create a refreshed strategic narrative to articulate the Trust’s purpose, vision and priorities. To share s story that all 8,000 people could believe in, we grounded the story in lived experience. Together, the values and strategic narrative have reconnected colleagues with why their work matters.
Absolutely delighted with the narrative, values and behaviours. They draw people back to the reason they joined the Trust.
Morgan have helped us go further in a few months than we would have in a year on our own.
